A Roomy Tote

monogramThe February embroidery club project is here! It’s a fun tote with a very roomy interior, plus two exterior pockets. The exterior pockets are embellished with an appliqued floral wreath on one side, and a pretty monogram on the other side.

This project is jam packed with sewing and embroidery techniques.

bound_seam_1I used a heavy canvas for the tote pictured here, but you can use denim, linen and even quilting cotton. The tote is unlined; so the seams are bound, for a great looking, and sturdy finish.

I made my own binding using a fun print; and it matches the handles. Instructions are included, it’s so easy!

If you look closely at the picture of the tote, you’ll notice a small label tucked into the strapping on the right side. (There’s an app for the to – hehehe.) You guessed it, I included instructions for that as well. Here’s a closer look.

The label has a little rose on one half and the option to add your initials to the other half. Only the rose side is pictured here.

One final feature is a removable base support. It keeps the bottom of your tote from sagging with the weight of your stuff.
