Here’s a picture of my shiny new car. It’s a lovely Equinox and I love it. Actually this is not the picture of my car. My car is cyber gray and after only three days it’s already dirty with the snow, ice and salt here in Toronto. Why am I telling you this? Well because I am happy, and I’ve got a little freebie for you. It’s a key chain. it seemed to fit with the new car idea.
Here’s what you need:
8 1/2”x 2 1/2” strip of fabric
8” x 2” strip of lightweight, non-woven fusible interfacing
Thread to match
Key ring, approximately 1”
Small to medium double cap rivet
Center and fuse the interfacing onto the wrong side of the fabric. Press 1/4” to the wrong side on the 2 1/2” ends. Topstitch in place.
Fold the long edges to meet in the center. Fold in half along the length and topstitch the long edges.
Punch a hole 3/8” in and another 1 7/8” in from one end. Punch a hole 3/8” in from the other end.
Insert the end with the two holes into the key ring. Fold the end in, lining up the two holes. Fold the other end in, lining up the third hole. Insert the longer part of the rivet into the holes; snap the second part of the rivet onto the end.
Hope your enjoy!
