Slip into summer comfort

These pretty slippers and the matching drawstring bag are both embellished with beautiful floral embroidery. The slippers, the bag and the floral embroidery designs are all a part of the April embroidery club project. Retailers just click on Retailer Login to get to your download page. The slippers are so comfy and so quick to make, you can treat all your favorite girls to a pair.

The monogram on the drawstring bag is from 35mm Script Alphabet Embroidery designs #sc299d, also included with this project.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAWe cut the slipper sole from Grip Tight skid-proof fabric. The rubberized dots on this fabric grip the floor and keep you from slipping and sliding.

For a cushier sole, my proof reader Patricia from Life’s A Stitch in Sault Ste. Marie added an extra piece of fleece to the soles.  She explains, “I traced the sole pattern twice onto the fleece and cut the pieces 1/2” smaller all the way around. I then centered these smaller soles onto the main fleece soles and basted them in place. The rest I stitched as per your directions.  Our fusible fleece is not as soft and thick as our non fusible (thermolam) so I used that – hence the basting. No extra bulk in the seams but an extra layer of cushiness on the bottom.”

Sounds very comfy Patricia, thanks once again for a great tip.
