Easter is just around the corner

I love this time of year, not February, but the promise of spring that is just around the corner. And with spring we get Easter, one of my favorite holidays. So this month’s project is all about Easter, it’s an Easter Egg Holder and Easter Egg Cozies. Retailers login to download the project and designs.

egg_cozies_blogThe egg holder is elegantly embellished with eyelet embroidery and holds eight (8) eggs.

The matching egg cozies are completed right in the hoop, so you know they are perfect every time.

The focus of this month's project and designs is eyelet embroidery. This simple and elegant embroidery technique may loo complicated, but really is very easy.

Eyelet embroidery designs can be stitched onto many different types of fabrics. However, for best results you really should use all natural fiber fabrics such as linen and cotton/linen blends. I used a lightweight 100% linen for my Easter Egg Holder and Egg Cozies. they turned out beautiful, if I do say so myself.

Here's a little slide show of the eyelet embroidery process.

If you follow my blog, you know that I use a lot of linen. I love it, it's one of my favorite fabrics. I purchase linen from a wide variety of sources; mostly from my local retailers. If you don't have a good local source give the fabric-store.com a try. This is an online store that sells a wide variety of linen at good prices. I have purchased from them may times and have been very satisfied with my purchases.
